SURFING
Nusa Lembongan has 4 surf breaks giving surfers options depending on the conditions and their experience. Noting that strong currents and changing tides are prevalent in the waters around Lembongan and care must always be taken.
Playgrounds as the name suggests, is a fun wave with both left and right hand take off. On a larger swell it can turn into a fast take off with waves well over head height. It is best on mid – tides. Playgrounds is about a 200m paddle from Tamarind Beach and can be viewed from the villa.
Lacerations is the next break beyond Playgrounds, and although its name suggests perhaps a more severe wave, it is often the preferred option for learners and surf lessons, offering a good righter hander on small swell. This then turns into a faster take-off on bigger swell. You can onto Lacerations from Playgrounds or take a boat directly from Villa Coral.
Shipwrecks is definitely only for experienced surfers, with a fast right hand take off and a tight line up for inside position. Best to take a boat out to Shipwrecks
Mahana Point – at the far end of Nusa Ceningan, is a left hand wave best suited to experienced surfers. You can either scooter there with your board via the Yellow Bridge or take a boat.
Surf Lessons – there are a number of surf schools which offer lessons and also board hire on Lembongan.
